Savings Referral Program Terms

Each time someone becomes a new Oportun App subscriber and sets up Savings using your personal referral link or referral code that you shared with them in accordance with the eligibility criteria below, we will deposit a “Referral Reward” into your linked checking account (Referral Reward value may be $5 or $35, depending on eligibility). Each Qualified Referral that you refer who creates an Oportun App account, sets up Savings, and completes three automated money transfers (“Auto-Saves”) in accordance with the eligibility criteria below, will also receive $5.

For purposes of this Oportun Savings Referral Program (“Program”):

To be an “Eligible Referrer,” you must:
1. Be a legal resident of the United States and at least 18 years of age;
2. Not be an Oportun employee; and
3. Have and maintain an Oportun App account and Savings in good standing.

A referral is a “Qualified Referral” if they:

1. Are a real person (not legal entities) at least 18 years of age who successfully opened an Oportun App account using a valid referral link or referral code;
2. Set up Savings within seven (7) days of registering for the Oportun App, which may require verification of certain bank account and identification information;
3. Complete at least three Auto-Saves from a linked checking account funding source to the Oportun App within 30 days of setting up Savings;
4. Did not previously create an Oportun App account under any email address or alias; and
5. Did not commit fraud or violate our Terms of Use or these Oportun Savings Referral Program Terms when registering for the Oportun App account or setting up Savings.

Certain Oportun App subscribers may be eligible to earn a one-time $35 Bonus Referral Reward if they successfully refer three (3) Qualified Referrals in a 30-day period. The 30-day period begins on the date of your first Qualified Referral after you become eligible for the $35 Bonus Referral Reward.
We will determine, in our sole discretion, whether a Qualified Referral has successfully registered using your referral link in accordance with these Oportun Savings Referral Program Terms and whether participants are eligible to receive a Referral Reward.
Subject to these Oportun Savings Referral Program Terms, Referral Rewards will be issued within 7-14 days after a Qualified Referral has completed eligibility criteria. We will deposit Referral Rewards into your linked checking account. All Referral Rewards will be paid in U.S. Dollars.
A Qualified Referral may only receive one Referral Reward for registering for an Oportun account and completing qualifying actions but will then be eligible to participate as a Referrer.
Eligible Referrers cannot exceed $100 in Referral Rewards during any given calendar year. We will not pay Rewards for Qualified Referrals that exceed these limits.
We may delay payment of Referral Rewards to verify Qualified Referrals and review their eligibility. We may also refuse to verify and process any Referrals if we believe that they’re fraudulent, suspicious or violate our Terms of Use or these Oportun Savings Referral Program Terms.

Communications

By participating in the Program, participants agree to these terms and conditions and agree that Oportun may contact the participants via email, SMS texts and telephone regarding the enrollment. This Program is void where prohibited by law.

Modifications to program terms

If Oportun modifies the terms of this Program, new terms will be posted on the Oportun.com/terms/refer-a-friend-to-savings website, which are effective upon posting. Continued participation in the Oportun Savings Referral Program after any modification shall constitute consent to such modification.

Program cancellation

If the Program is canceled, Oportun will honor any referral code used by a referral to download the Oportun app or complete other in-app actions necessary to qualify.

Disclosure of nonpublic personal information

By participating, the participants understand and agree that Oportun may disclose to the referral that the referrer is an Oportun member. Further, by using the referral link or code, the referral understands and agrees that Oportun may disclose to the referrer that the reward redemption process has been initiated.

Miscellaneous

Oportun may prohibit a participant from participating in the Program or receiving a Referral Reward, in its sole discretion, if it determines that such Participant is attempting to undermine the fairness, integrity, or legitimate operation of the Program in any way.

Participants agree to release, discharge, and hold Oportun and its respective directors, officers, employees, promotion agencies, and assigns harmless against any claims, damages, and liability caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Program or use or redemption of any Reward. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Program materials and these terms and conditions, the terms and conditions shall prevail, govern, and control. Oportun will not be responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the Program or administration of the Program. Oportun assumes no responsibility for undeliverable email messages resulting from any form of active or passive filtering by a user’s internet service provider and/or email client or for insufficient space in user’s email account to receive email. Privacy

The personal information you submit when you participate in this Program will be subject to our Privacy Policy. Any personal information handled by an agency or vendor of Oportun will be done solely on its behalf and all such information will be handled in conformity with the Privacy Policy. Referrer information provided will only be used for this Program and will not be used for any other marketing solicitations or sold to third parties.
